Photographer Joe Zanolle on what's developing
I am very excited about this upcoming show. The show will host one of the best main event match-ups in a long time when the new ECWA Champion "The Beast" Glen Osbourne meets with the new Mid-Atlantic Champion "The Indy Icon" Ace Darling!! I always liked when the two top single champs faced each other, like when the WWF/E Champ would wrestle the I-C Champ. It's something special you don't see too often. I have known Glen since 1990. He is a true veteran on the indy circuit, and he has the respect of every guy in the locker room. However, the same can be said of Ace Darling. He has been around almost as long as Glen, and is every much a respected veteran that Glen is. This match-up will be a real treat for not only the fans, but for the guys in the locker room too, as they watch two guys they admired and looked up to breaking in the business. As far as the match itself, both are equal on experience, but Glen has the edge when it comes to power, while Ace may be the more technically sound wrestler. Also, Ace won't think twice when it comes to bending, or breaking, the rules to gain an advantage. I have to go with Glen on this one. Glen's career has just gotten a second wind and a definite confidence booster with the title win over Mr. Scott Wright, after Wright managed to finagle a couple of questionable victories over Glen. Also, Ace has the tendency to become overly confident, and cocky, as evidence of J.J. Cruz's recent win over Ace. If Ace gets too cocky, Glen will exploit it and pick up the win!
The tag team title match is also interesting with the Logan Brothers, Matt and Bryan, taking on the massive Nigerian Nightmares. I like the Logans a lot. They remind me of old school tag team tandems like the Rock and Roll Express, the Rockers, or the Midnight Express. You see them as a unit and not as two individuals in a team. They do a lot of cool double moves that seems to be a lost art. Also, both have had great success in their forays in singles competition, as Bryan recently vacated the Mid-Atlantic Title when he and his brother won the tag titles, and Matt did great in the Super 8, where he beat Rob Conway in the first round, and gave Jerry Lynn everything he had and then some before eventually being pinned by the ECW vet. The Nightmares are in a league of their own. These two behemoths will have the psychological advantage right off the bat. The face paint, the music, the handler, their entourage, etc. They have a surreal aura about them. Surprisingly, they are quite athletic and agile for men of their size. The Logans need to avoid locking up with these guys. They need to stick and move, hit them with running momentum based attacks, make quick tags, do a lot of double team moves off the tags, and keep these guys off balance and on the mat. Also, the Logans can use the size of the Nigerians against them if they get them winded. The longer the match goes, the better chance the Logans have. If the Nigerians get a hold of the Logans, they could be in for a long night of hurting. However, since this match is now a No-Disqualification match, I don't like the Logans’ chances.

Opinions from Mr. Ooh La La
There is room for only one icon in the ECWA and I hope they beat each other up. They will rue the day they look over the current icon … Mr. Ooh La La!
As far as the Logans go … Quit! You guys are in over your head. I hope someone revisited the match you had last month. And if I were you I would ask for any other match, just not the express. I know you guys are young, just don’t let history repeat itself like it so often does. And if you do go through with it and face them again, you better hope they get sick with the flu or got tied up in the airport and don’t make it ‘cause if they get their fat hands on you, well … YOU’RE DONE!

E.S. Easton swears innocence
Next we have Commissioner Naegle’s secretary, Mary Matsuda. Apparently about a year or so ago, Freak took Mary out on an expensive date, and right before the check came, he “had to use the men’s room” and never came back. Not only did she have to pay for dinner, but she had to take a two hour cab ride home. She was very distraught over the matter, and still doesn’t like to discuss the incident; but one thing I can tell you is that she does have much hatred for the sleazebag running our company.
And then there is Pete Theophall (I know what you’re thinking, you’ve seen that name someplace before.). Pete used to do the backstage interviews with Freak Nastty and took much verbal abuse with name calling like “pops” and “old man.” Well, Pete never forgot about it. Things like this tend to brew and stew. The same could be said about Commissioner Naegele. You don’t think that porky has it in for Freak Nastty? And he hasn’t been happy with the way things have been running since Freak has become “part owner.” Which leads me to Jim Kettner…
How do we know he wasn’t behind the attack? Do you think he likes that his promotion is being run by a wrestler who’s doing a hack job on the place? NOOOOO! Do you think he’s willing to do something about it? YESSSSS!!! Or, maybe they’re all in on it together. Or, maybe it’s none of them. There are three things I can tell you for sure:
1. It wasn’t me
2. I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!!!
3. The Sleazeball deserved it!!

Alec Chance's thoughts on Icon vs. Icon
Glen Osbourne Vs. Ace Darling
So let’s see …two of the most recognized icons in independent wrestling are gonna square off in the ring on May 10, 2008. Both men hold prestigious titles. On one side you have the ECWA Heavyweight Champion "The Beast" Glen Osbourne, A man who just by taking a look at him gives you the understanding of why they call him the Beast. Glen Osbourne is vicious in the ring, a competitor rivaled by none in my opinion.
On the other side you have the ECWA Mid-Atlantic Champion the "Indy Icon" Ace Darling, a man by shear definition is Professional Wrestling. Ace Darling has the perfect mindset and every time he gets in that ring he knows exactly how to break down his opponent and beat anyone anytime. Take winning the ECWA Mid-Atlantic Championship for example… he knew who he was facing and found that stopping his opponents’ speed would give him the power advantage. I know from personal experience that if you drop the ball in the ring for even a split second that Ace Darling will use it to his advantage. He took me out of the Riot match using his "Ace in the Hole" the move and was able to put me down long enough for the 3-count which allowed him to gain a shot at the ECWA Mid-Atlantic Championship.
I believe that putting those two icons against each other on May 10 has got to be one of the most momentous matches ever put together. Two men, two different egos, two champions, two icons, and only one wrestling ring to hold them both in.

E.S. Easton's Icon Vs. Icon Prediction
And then there's Ace Darling. He's the greatest wrestler to have ever stepped inside an ECWA ring. He's done it all here in the ECWA and everywhere else he's been. (For a list of his accomplishments and accolades just ask him and give yourself a good hour and a half). Ace is a thinking man's wrestler and a true ring general. This will be one heck of a battle, but it's like I always say - in the end brains will always beat brawn! Your winner: Ace Darling.

JJ the Crew Guy is a man of few words
As for Freak, again I am a man of few words. My actions have already spoken for me.
I could care less who comes away with the Tag Team Title belts in May, because L&L will be adding those belts to our wardrobe soon enough.

Announcer Joel Oresky speaks up about May 10
I'll get to that in a minute ,but as far as the two matches signed...
For the ECWA Tag Team Championships: Matt and Bryan Logan, "The Logan Brothers"(Champions) vs. Maifu and Saifu, "The Nigerian Nightmares"
This is sure to be a slugfest. These 2 behemoths of men, new to the ECWA, are 848 pounds of terror. We all saw that in their debut against the Heavyweights; we saw their dominance and their strength shined through at our last event in the huge six man tag team warfare, also involving Freak Nastty and Prince Nana. These two are not to be reckoned with, but when it comes down to the Logans, they've never been known to back down from a challenge, and I’m sure they won't begin to now. This match was made by Freak Nastty, following the six man warfare, much to the chagrin of the current tag team champions. With Bryan Logan reigning as the ECWA Mid Atlantic Champion for over a year ,and Matt Logan's winning consistency, as well as his amazing showing in last year's Super 8 tournament, these two men have always been a team to defy the odds and show their true dominance, in both the singles and tag competitions. These two great teams will collide on Saturday night, May the 10th at the Newark Boy's and Girl's club in Newark, Delaware, and it's sure to be an unpredictable, hard-hitting match. My personal opinion, as much talent and determination as the Logans have, I don't see them getting past these two behemoths. The Nightmares have shown their dominance in such a short time, and seem to be getting only more violent and intimidating as the months progress. For this one, I will have to pick the Nigerian Nightmares to become the new ECWA Tag Team Champions. What do you think?
TITLE VS. TITLE - ICON VS. ICONNewly-crowned ECWA Heavyweight Champion "The Beast" Glen Osbourne vs. Newly-crowned ECWA Mid-Atlantic Champion "The Indy Icon" Ace Darling
This is just another one of several reasons why I can't wait for May 10th.These two men are true icons in the ECWA, and their paths crossed at our last event. Both were crowned new champions, and the cocky Darling, after defeating rookie star JJ Cruz, took it upon himself to berate the roster, and say that no one could compare or "level up" to him. The Beast took offense to this, obviously, as he came to the ring, determined to prove Ace wrong. It was then announced by Freak Nastty that these two men would battle title for title at our next event. I have never seen these two men battle it out against one another, so the anticipation is growing here. Who's going to come out on top? I really have no idea, both of these men will fight with everything they have to retain their respected titles, in this high profiled match where they have everything to gain, but also everything to lose. What will happen in just a few short weeks, we'll all have to wait and find out.
And finally, owner Freak Nastty was attacked and knocked out at our last event. But who would do such a thing? It's not a simple question, considering the comments and actions by the owner throughout the duration of the night. Leather N Lace (Hot Shot Mike Reed and JJ The Crew Guy w/Sebastian Knight) felt they were wronged by Nastty, as he overturned a victory over the Heavyweights, noticing they cheated to win. Nastty also ejected managers Double G-Gus Grand and Coach Jim Shorts in the three way contest involving Aden Chambers, Tommy Trouble, and The Frederick of Hollywood. He certainly got to The Logan Brothers, signing them against the Nigerian Nightmares at our next event. And let's not forget the "old timers" comment, referring to new champions and icons in this company, Glen Osbourne and Ace Darling. How about Mr.Scott Wright, the former ECWA Heavyweight Champion, who was forced to compete in a chain match against Glen Osbourne at the last event. These are just a few however, of the upset ECWA wrestlers who took offense to Nastty's ways, but who did this, and will we get an explanation at our next event?
All of this, plus the debut of Magnum on Saturday night, May the 10th.Who is this man, and what will his intentions be as he comes to Delaware? Join us on May the 10th at the Boys and Girls Club in Newark, Delaware to find out.

Timothy Richards offers his take on May 10
Ace vs. the Beast
When you think of the names Ace Darling and "The Beast" Glen Osbourne, you think of two of the best that ever stepped in between the ropes. Both accomplishing so much in their careers have very well proved it. From my first time watching from outside that very guardrail to facing both in that ring, I can say they are both very smart in that ring. It’s hard to say who will come out on top of this match. On one hand, you have Ace. One of the most technical men in the ECWA. He can work circles around the entire roster, believe me he showed me that in March. Then there is the Beast. There is a reason he developed that moniker. He is so strong, he left bruises on me for weeks. Just looking at him in that face paint, into those demon-like eyes will send shivers down the back of even the fearless. Running down the tale of the tape, Glen has the advantage, but I'm pulling for Ace. His skill might be too much for Osbourne.
Talk about oversized. HA. The Nigerian Nightmares are freaking huge. Not just their girth, but everything else. Their presence, their entrance, even their entourage. Just being around them creeps me out. Since day one the Nightmares have made their impact. Mean and nasty are the only words I can think of when it comes to them. The Logan Brothers have also made their own impact however. Since they first came in Matt and Bryan have dominated the Tag scene as well as the singles division. Both Super 8 competitors, the Logans proved they can wrestle, but I doubt wrestling will get it done against the Nightmares.
Freak Nasty's accident
Ahhh what can I say. For years, Freak has flip-flopped more times than I can count. His time in the ECWA has created more enemies than friends, and as days go by, that list shrinks even more. His mouth is definitely bigger then his brain. Now even though I was nowhere to be found when his unconscious body was discovered doesn’t mean I did it…or does it…

Referee Matt Bennet on the May 10 show
As you know, on April 5th, two new champions were crowned. “The Beast” Glenn Osbourne defeated Mr. Scott Wright to win the Heavyweight Championship in a contest right up his alley, a Four-Corner Chain Match. Also, Ace Darling defeated JJ Cruz to win the Mid-Atlantic Championship, the belt that escaped him one month earlier.
By the end of the show on April 5th, the locker room was going crazy. Everyone wants to know who the better ECWA Icon is. Well we will find out on May 10th as they face each other one on one, icon vs. icon, championship vs. championship.
I have had a privilege of refereeing many matches involving these two ECWA Hall of Famers and I can say that neither man is in for a walk in the park when they meet on May 10th. Glenn is a mighty powerhouse that even a brick wall can’t hold back. Ace is a devious man who lately will do anything to win.
How about those Nigerian Nightmares? They sure have made quite the impact in their short time in the ECWA. With them standing proudly behind Prince Nana, the three of them are a force to be reckoned with. Already, they plowed though the former tag team champions The Heavyweights and hold a double pin-fall victory over the current tag team championship duo, The Logan Brothers.
I refereed the No-DQ Six Man Tag match on April 5th that saw Nana & The Nigerians defeat the Logans & Freak Nastty. I take pride in my refereeing and do my best to make sure rules are followed to ensure that we fairly have a winner and a loser in each match. However, in this match, quite the opposite happened. I had no power or control. Seeing Matt and Bryan Logan lying on the mat after the match really struck me hard. There was nothing I could do to avoid that from happening.
I helped tend to the Logans after the match. The whole time they reassured me that they will be ready for the Nigerian Nightmares on May 10th and will walk out still the ECWA Tag Team Champions.
Also, on my way to the ring for the last match on April 5th, I saw Freak Nastty laid out in the locker room on the big screen above the entranceway. I did not witness the attack and so far everyone is denying having anything to do with it. All I know for sure is that Nastty stuck his nose in so many other people’s business during that show that everyone had a problem with him by the end of the night. I think Nastty will learn real quick that he shouldn’t be so hands on with his running of the company.
In other events, this past weekend many members of the ECWA roster took part in the ECPW show at Suffern High School in Suffern, NY. Over 1,000 fans were in attendance and over $5,000 was raised to benefit the local football program and the Challenger Little League Program. I would like to thank everyone involved in the event working so hard to put on a great show. All involved are already looking forward to next year.
Well with that, I wrap up my first post here on the ECWA blog. I hope you enjoyed reading and I look forward to making additional posts down the line.

Sebastian Night comments on May 10 show
First of all, let me start this off by saying I am being forced to do this by the management of the East Coast Wrestling Association; and when I say management, I mean that overactive human adrenal gland, Freak Nastty. I fought him on this, but in the end, he signs the checks and he forced my hand. But, I will get back to him in good time, I promise.
On the subject of the main event of the ECWA show on May 10th, I have to say that if I wasn't already lucky enough to be a part of this show and to see this match first hand, I would be in line with all of the fans to witness it. Two of the biggest stars in ECWA history, face to face, ready to go one on one to see who the true Icon of the ECWA is. It's a match that has been building for years and now the question will finally be answered. It's a match that would make any wrestling purest salivate and the ECWA fans get to see it. Let me say a little bit about each of the competitors.
Ace Darling, The Indy Outlaw, legend of the squared circle and winner of the first ever Super 8 Tournament. Ace has forgotten more about wrestling than most young wrestlers have learned yet. Ace is a master of his craft in and out of the ring. Not only can he tie his opponents in knots inside the ring, but he can use his head to tie up their brains as well. Ace is the very definition of a Ring General. Ace is once again the ECWA Mid Atlantic Champion, one of the most prestigious titles in Independent wrestling and he is one of the most respected men to hold that title. Ace Darling is someone who has been through the wars and knows what it takes to get the W. I respect him as an entertainer and a wrestler more every single month.
Glen Osbourne, The Beast. When I first met Glen, he was "The Madman from the Badlands." He didn't care what the fans thought of him and his path to the ECWA Heavyweight Title was paved with Battered Bodies and Broken Dreams. Then one night, Glen lost that killer instinct. He went soft and he started hearing the chants and claps and started caring what they thought of him. Glen Osbourne found his smile. And it was all downhill after that. After a brief sabbatical away from the ECWA, Glen came back and much to my shock and awe, that killer instinct he had lost, was back. Yeah, he was still smiling and the fans were still cheering him, but when that bell rang, the monster I first saw was back. The Beast had been unleashed. Mr. Scott Wright felt it on April 5th and Glen became the new ECWA Heavyweight Champion. It pains me to say this, but this lipstick wearing freak respects the sacrifices Glen has made in life to perfect his craft and level he goes to, to make sure that every fan gets their monies worth.
So, what will happen when Ace Darling, the ECWA Mid Atlantic Champion faces off against Glen Osbourne, the ECWA Heavyweight Champion on May 10th? A phenomenal match, that's what will happen. These two know each other so well, each of them having over a decade of experience to draw from, but neither of them has a clear advantage. Ace will attempt to outwit him and out wrestle him and yes, if given the opportunity, will take shortcuts where he can, because that's something experience has taught him. It's all about getting your hand raised in the end. Glen will take his lead from the fans. He will feed on their cheers and excitement and they will push him beyond where his physical attributes would normally allow him to go. He will be fighting for them, to prove why he is the top dog in the ECWA. I don't know who will win, but I know they will give 100%, but that's the only way either of them knows how to wrestle.
As far as the ECWA Tag Team title match, I only have one opinion. That match should belong to my team, Leather N Lace. They have not been pinned since I put them together and if not for political interference after our match in April, we would have another win. But, I will once again try to put my bias aside. The Nigerian Nightmares are huge monstrous mounds of flesh who are surprising agile and athletic in the ring. But yet, still very unorthodox with their style. I don't envy The Logan Brothers task of facing them, though I would be lying if I said I hope the Nightmares win. Why? Because The Logans we can watch tape and prepare for, we can plan an attack. The Nigerians, I have to hope they were fed before the match, because I am not a rack of lamb for them to feast on. For me, from a strictly selfish point of view, I hope The Logans come out in the end as the champions. Because if they do, The Nightmares will have worn them down enough for them to be vulnerable and where there is a weakness, there will be new ECWA Tag Team Champions in Leather N Lace.
Now, as for Freak Nastty. I am not going to bite my tongue with you and be as objective. I have no reason to. You stuck your nose into my business. There is no instant replay in Professional Wrestling. Trust me, I looked it up and contacted four lawyers. The one who didn't hang up on me assured me I am correct. You stole a win from my team, Leather N Lace, and you know it. The referees decision is final, not up for a review of what "The Fans" want. Most of the fans, if they had an original thought, it would die of loneliness anyway. But, you care about what they want. You care so much, that you insinuated yourself into matches all night long. You have turned half the locker room against you, even your dear friends, the Logan Brothers, don't like you right now.
In my opinion, you got what you deserved. Now, for the record, I am not taking credit for it, nor am I denying it. But I will say, I found it quite funny to see you laid out like that. I had to stifle my desire to laugh. But you want to know what I found most interesting, Freak? That while you lay there, no one wanted to lift a finger to help you. No one had a look of concern for your well being. Why? Because you are all about you in the end. You brought this on yourself. So, ice down that lump and remember to watch your back, because you have no idea who is out to get you.

Ace Darling Weighs in on his upcoming match
Valedictorian Rob Eckos is honest
We asked everyone in the ECWA to comment on the mystery of "Who Attacked Freak Nastty." Valedictorian Rob Eckos responds simply:
To be honest with you, I don't really care who attacked Freak Nastty...why would I? The Valedictorians have much more on their minds than Freak Nastty.
