The Logans Take on Tiki and Prince Nana

A popular tag team returns in a much more even playing field to perhaps extract a little revenge for months of punishment. But insert a well known evil and a little unknown evil and you have all trappings of a very intriguing contest to say the least.

The Chick Magnets take on The Logans in a steel cage

The Chick Magnets are like a pack of wolves. This time have the Logan Brothers evened the playing field by capturing two of the Chick Magnets in the Steel Cage, prohibiting the third Chick Magnet from interfering, or do the Chick Magnets have something special in store for the Logans? Read more about this upcoming match here.

4 Tag Teams Are Hot on the Heals of the Logan Brothers

By: Josh Martin

It’s a FULL HOUSE ---RUN FOR THE GOLD and the stakes could not be higher.

It’s involves 4 Tag Teams that are hot on the heals of the Logan Brothers for the coveted ECWA TAG TEAM TITLES and it comes our way on September 27.

FULL HOUSE -- RUN FOR THE GOLD is an interesting concept and here is how it all works:

2 Teams will start the event and the winners of that match advance to meet the next team.
The winners of that match advance to meet the 3rd team and the winners of that advance to meet the 4th team, and the winners of that match will go on to meet the Logans for the tag team championship titles. The order of the teams have been drawn by ECWA officials and will not be announced until that evening as the match progresses.

So consequently one team could stay in and win all the matches against all the teams and meet the Logans in the final of the match. Or depending on the outcome of the matches, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will be left last to face off against Matt & Bryan Logan.

Let’s look at the teams involved:

CHA CHA CHANCE & 400 LB. MEGA
This newly formed combination litterly SPLASHED onto the scene by tagging together at the last ECWA event and between their different styles, their size and their entrance musics, they ROCKED THE HOUSE. Giant Mega brings the size and experience to the team while young Cha Cha Chance brings a new look and renewed determination to climb the ranks of the ECWA chain. Cha Cha is electrifying and he is determined to walk out of the show as part owner of the Tag Team Championship. Mega is equally as excited, because a win here would give him something that has eluded him during his entire career here in the ECWA, a TITLE ! As you might imagine, both competitors are fired up and no doubt are set to ROCK THE ARENA once again! Can they do it?

PRESS AGENT GUS GRAND & ROBERE’ SHIELDS
Although they are slightly eccentric and sometimes miscalculated, they could be the ones to surprise everyone and pull out a win. Stranger things have happed in the ECWA. Young Robere has had a couple of great outings recently where he has had a chance to display his true talents and critics are saying he has all the potential to be a top ECWA star and a title holder for sure. ECWA’s Press Agent-The Pefect Man, Gus Grand has been focusing on his wrestling career since losing all his clients. He has been lobbying ECWA officials for more prime positions on the cards and this opportunity gives him just that, an opportunity to team with Robere Shields and try for the tag team championship. Grand has looked great in his last couple of outings and he is thinking about giving up his Press Agent business and heading into wrestling full time. Although on paper, this looks like to be the team least likely to take the gold, don’t count out these crafty journeymen who are looking for fame and fortune!

LEATHER N LACE—J.J. Crew Guy & Hot Shot Mike Reed
This is the hottest tag team in the ECWA at the present time and they have been searching for the all elusive tag team title shot. Their win/loss record is impeccable and their in ring style, although questionable at times, is one of pure genius, all manipulated by the diabolical Seabastian Night. The Hot Shot Mike Reed is an accomplished technician in the ring, while J.J. Crew Guy brings the experience, strength and brutal tactics into play to round out the deadly combination. They have been wanting this opportunity for months and now they have a chance to obtain their goal. The only thing standing in their way of getting at the Logans are 3 other teams….teams they have not faced in the past...can Leather N Lace climb the mountain?

The 848 LB. NIGERIAN NIGHTMARES
Speaking of Leather N Lace, climbing the mountain...try these two on for size! They are the size of=2 0two mountains. They are brutal, scary and perhaps the most dangerous tag team in ECWA history. R.L. Jackson’s, Nigerian Nightmares exploded onto the ECWA scene early this year and destroyed everything in their path. They got a title shot at the Logans recently but it was tough for R.L. Jackson to keep his humungous Nigerians focused in their new ECWA surroundings. He claims now that they are used to competing here in the East Coast Wrestling Association and he further states that we will see a more brutal 848 lb monster tag team than they have been in the past. That’s SCARY! If the Nigerian Nightmares have been brutal in the past, what can we expect on September 27 as they aspire to the very titles that recently alluded them?

THE LOGAN BROTHERS -- defending ECWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS
It took them almost three years to climb the ladder of tag team success which brought them the titles here in the ECWA. While touted as the most athletic and technical team to ever hold the titles, they have had a tough year facing all types of challengers. One has to wonder if these tough title defense have taken their toll on the popular tag champions? One also has to wonder how tough this will be, as Matt or Bryan have NO IDEA who their opponents will be until the dust settles in the RUN FOR THE GOLD MATCH. You can be they will be watching the monitor backstage waiting to see who advances and who they will have to face. Each of the formidable previously announced challengers all have the tools and credentials to take the titles from the Logans. But let’s not count out the popular champions. They have defied all odds, including a pending feud with part ECWA owner Freak Nastty and they have stayed on track and focused. Can they go home on September 27 still holding the coveted ECWA titles?

We will find out.

4 teams who have never faced each other all with different styles and brought together for one exclusive purpose. Advancing to get a shot at the Tag Team Championship. And the popular Tag Team Champions, who are at a distinct disadvantage, not knowing who to train for. So it’s a game of chance as each team plays in the ECWA’s FULL HOUSE—RUN FOR THE GOLD. Wh o will lose and who will cash in? We find out September 27.

Photographer Joe Zanolle on what's developing

Hey, this is Joe Zanolle. I am the photographer for ECWA and a contributing photographer for Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) magazine. I am just checking in on the new ECWA blog here with some thoughts on the May 10 show at the Newark Boys & Girls Club.

I am very excited about this upcoming show. The show will host one of the best main event match-ups in a long time when the new ECWA Champion "The Beast" Glen Osbourne meets with the new Mid-Atlantic Champion "The Indy Icon" Ace Darling!! I always liked when the two top single champs faced each other, like when the WWF/E Champ would wrestle the I-C Champ. It's something special you don't see too often. I have known Glen since 1990. He is a true veteran on the indy circuit, and he has the respect of every guy in the locker room. However, the same can be said of Ace Darling. He has been around almost as long as Glen, and is every much a respected veteran that Glen is. This match-up will be a real treat for not only the fans, but for the guys in the locker room too, as they watch two guys they admired and looked up to breaking in the business. As far as the match itself, both are equal on experience, but Glen has the edge when it comes to power, while Ace may be the more technically sound wrestler. Also, Ace won't think twice when it comes to bending, or breaking, the rules to gain an advantage. I have to go with Glen on this one. Glen's career has just gotten a second wind and a definite confidence booster with the title win over Mr. Scott Wright, after Wright managed to finagle a couple of questionable victories over Glen. Also, Ace has the tendency to become overly confident, and cocky, as evidence of J.J. Cruz's recent win over Ace. If Ace gets too cocky, Glen will exploit it and pick up the win!

The tag team title match is also interesting with the Logan Brothers, Matt and Bryan, taking on the massive Nigerian Nightmares. I like the Logans a lot. They remind me of old school tag team tandems like the Rock and Roll Express, the Rockers, or the Midnight Express. You see them as a unit and not as two individuals in a team. They do a lot of cool double moves that seems to be a lost art. Also, both have had great success in their forays in singles competition, as Bryan recently vacated the Mid-Atlantic Title when he and his brother won the tag titles, and Matt did great in the Super 8, where he beat Rob Conway in the first round, and gave Jerry Lynn everything he had and then some before eventually being pinned by the ECW vet. The Nightmares are in a league of their own. These two behemoths will have the psychological advantage right off the bat. The face paint, the music, the handler, their entourage, etc. They have a surreal aura about them. Surprisingly, they are quite athletic and agile for men of their size. The Logans need to avoid locking up with these guys. They need to stick and move, hit them with running momentum based attacks, make quick tags, do a lot of double team moves off the tags, and keep these guys off balance and on the mat. Also, the Logans can use the size of the Nigerians against them if they get them winded. The longer the match goes, the better chance the Logans have. If the Nigerians get a hold of the Logans, they could be in for a long night of hurting. However, since this match is now a No-Disqualification match, I don't like the Logans’ chances.

Opinions from Mr. Ooh La La

The Beast vs. Ace … well this is a tough one to call. The Beast has had his run in with me and needless to say lady luck was on his side. He has had a huge impact on the ECWA for decades and decades and even more decades. Holding off all challenges he faced winning title after title leaving black and blue bodies behind. Ace has had just as significant an impact on the ECWA as well. Don’t forget, Ace has been around for several decades as well, taking title after title leaving a trail of havoc behind.

There is room for only one icon in the ECWA and I hope they beat each other up. They will rue the day they look over the current icon … Mr. Ooh La La!

As far as the Logans go … Quit! You guys are in over your head. I hope someone revisited the match you had last month. And if I were you I would ask for any other match, just not the express. I know you guys are young, just don’t let history repeat itself like it so often does. And if you do go through with it and face them again, you better hope they get sick with the flu or got tied up in the airport and don’t make it ‘cause if they get their fat hands on you, well … YOU’RE DONE!

Alec Chance's thoughts on the Logans vs. The Nigerian

Looking at that 848-lb team is like looking into the end of your career. After they decimated the heavyweights and the Logans in the past 2 shows, I don’t see how any tag would stand a ghost of a CHANCE against those 2 monsters. The Logans are the top tag team in the ECWA and even hold the ECWA Tag Team Championships, but the Nigerian Nightmares appear to be unstoppable. But for any future reference I'll be in the back keeping a close eye on that match in the off CHANCE I get stuck facing those two behemoths in the ring. I'll have a better idea to how to take them down.

Will E.S. Easton place a bet on The Logans vs. The Nigerian Nightmares?

The Logans vs. The Nigerians: Yeeeshh, I would not want to be the Logans on May 10th. Look, Matt and Bryan are an extremely exciting tag team to watch in the ring. They're fantastic wrestlers and there is a reason they are the ECWA tag team champions – those two deserve those titles. But the Nigerian Nightmares are just plain SCARY!!! And after the way they flattened the Logans last month, if I were a betting man, which I'm not, my money wouldn't be on the Logans. Look, the Logans are a smart team, but the Nigerians are massive! It's like I always say, size will always overcome brains! I'm gonna have to go check the Vegas odds.
